Project Name: Studies on physics under extremely high laser fields

Project Introduction: By use of ultrashort ultraintense laser interaction with various targets together with some traditional laser technologies, we will establish experimental platforms to produce ultrashort electron bunches, energetic ion bunches, and coherent radiation sources ranging from terahertz to keV x-rays, develop key technologies for ultrafast diffraction and imaging, which can be used to the studies of ultrafast dynamics in condensed matters, chemical reactions and phase transitions, as well as high energy density matter states.
