      目前主流的宇宙结构形成理论认为星系在暗物质晕的势阱中形成,小质量的暗晕与更大质量的暗晕发生并合,形成所谓的子结构及卫星星系。卫星星系在围绕中央大质量星系运动的过程中,在潮汐作用下逐渐丢失自身的恒星,形成带状的星流及中央星系周围弥散的恒星晕结构。在该理论框架下,我的研究以结合观测数据及数值模拟为特色,通过大样本数据分析、巡天图像处理及高性能数值计算为手段,从观测事实和理论预言来系统研究星系的形成与演化、星系-暗物质关联及我们自身所在的银河系。具体的研究内容主要集中在小质量卫星星系及近场宇宙学、卫星星系与中央星系的联系、中央星系及宿主暗物质晕的关联、星系周边的延展暗弱恒星晕、弱引力透镜测量、银河系质量测量的动力学建模及银河系内恒星自行的测量等。
