INPAC-Seminar 144:ASIC Development and Education for Accelerator Science and Related Fields (M.Tanaka, Mar.27)

INPAC-Seminar 144

Title:  ASIC Development and Education for Accelerator Science and Related Fields

Speaker:  Prof. M. Tanaka, Japanese National High Energy Physics Lab and Sokendai University

Location:  Room 610, Physics Building

Time: 15:00-16:00, Thursday, March 27, 2014

Abstract:
ASIC are becoming one of the indispensable technologies for accelerator science and the related fields. Not only semiconductor detector R&D, but also other detectors (liquid and gas based photon sensors and their readout electronics) require ASIC because of their high density, sensitivity and implemented sophisticated functions. In this situation students and young researchers, who are not professionals, have successfully been developing their own ASICs for their application. The status of such developments will be discussed in the presentation.
