研究内容:

 “暗物质之谜”:在标准宇宙模型中,暗物质的比例占宇宙中的27%,可见物质(原子,分子)仅占4%,但是人类对暗物质的性质知之甚少。普遍的暗物质粒子模型认为,暗物质除了具有引力作用,还可以和已知物质存在一种新的相互作用,从而能够符合当前观测到的暗物质残余密度。主要研究方向:结合PandaX液氙暗物质直接探测实验和ATLAS对撞机探测实验来寻找暗物质。

 

具体包括:

1)通过PandaX液氙暗物质探测实验寻找暗物质和原子核或者电子相互作用信号。在实验硬件上,负责四吨级液氙暗物质探测实验中心探测器的研制和性能研究,以及未来“终极”暗物质实验探测技术的研发。目标将暗物质探测灵敏度推进到中微子本底平台,全面覆盖暗物质理论参数空间。

2)通过ATLAS实验寻找质子质子碰撞中暗物质和可见粒子(喷注,光子,W/Z玻色子,Higgs粒子,甚至Zprime新型粒子等)共同产生过程,或者直接寻找暗物质粒子和可见粒子相互作用的中间传播子(如双喷注过程)。ATLAS实验预计最终采集3000fb-1的数据(是目前数据量的100倍),期待新物理信号的出现。

 

研究成果:

以主要作者发表在国际权威物理期刊杂志如物理评论快报(PRL),物理评论(PRD),物理快报(PLB)和高能物理学报(JHEP)等顶级期刊上共20多篇,并在大型国际学术会议上多次做应邀报告。担任过ATLAS 实验喷注和暗物质物理组的召集人,并广泛参与和领导了一系列新物理和暗物质领域的实验研究。
