The XMASS program at Kamioka Observatory uses a self-shielding  liquid xenon scintillator for the direct detection of dark matter, double beta decay, and ultimately low energy solar neutrinos. XMASS-I is the current running 842kg dark matter detector for WIMPs and axions with a variety of detection channels.  Novel hardware and software technologies to further boost the performance of XMASS will also be discussed.
