We all know that the Higgs boson was discovered by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in 2012. However, it takes particle physicists several decades to pursuit and achieve this ultimate goal. In this talk, I will show you the long journey to the discovery of the Higgs boson through the history of the LHC and ATLAS experiment, some examples of technical challenges, detector design, construction, commissioning and grid computing for data processing and analysis. Some latest highlights including precision measurements of SM productions, Higgs properties and search for new physics beyond the SM will be presented.
