Motived by the increasingly widespread use of mobile and wearable devices, the requirements of low cost, high safety, high performance rechargeable batteries will be significantly important in realizing a low-carbon society. As one of promising candidates, all-solid-state batteries have been received more attention on improving energy density, safety and reliability for energy storage.
This Sino-German symposium is to strengthen the scientific links between scientists in Germany and China by establishing long-term interdisciplinary collaborative research on all-solid-state batteries. Major technical targets of the symposium focus on advanced cathodes and anodes with higher capacity or higher voltage for solid batteries,solid electrolytes with superionic conductivity, stability interactions between solid state electrolyte and cathode/anode, and understanding the ionic transport mechanism across cathode-electrolyte-anode system by in situ characterizations.
As remarked above, this symposium will generate a significant added value to the research activities in the fields of energy storage devices and their applications in China and Germany. Moreover, it will also strengthen the technique collaborations and improve the economic potential of battery applications in both countries.
