The Standard Model(SM) of particle physics has been extremely successful in describing three of the four fundamental interactions,i.e. electromagnetic, weak and strong interactions. Measuring some of its basic parameters not only could constrain the Higgs boson mass, but also can be used to constrain new physics in a indirect way. Meanwhile, to search for new physics directly, Top quark plays an important role. I will present how a SM precision measurement of W boson mass can help constrain the Higgs boson, and how Top quark is utilized in searching for new physics beyond the Standard Model.

I graduated from University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) with a bachelor degree in 2002. I obtained my Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA in 2009. Since then,I have been working as a postdoctoral fellow for Columbia University, USA on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider(LHC). During my Ph.D. study, I measured the W boson mass at the D0 experiment in Fermilab. As a postdoc, my research is focused on new physics search beyond the Standard Model.
