Since 2004, there has been a cornucopia of interesting new phenomena related with graphene, a single layer of carbon. Roughly speaking, the huge amount of research activities related with or initiated by this new two-dimensional crystal has been developed into five different categories: new electronic properties, new optical properties, new electromechanical properties, new chemical properties and all kinds of applications. In this colloquial style talk, I will review progresses made in those five categories and briefly introduce my group's contributions to each one.
